PROBLEM

As big a problem as storms are, they can be tracked and their paths predicted.  Forewarned is forearmed as the saying goes.  The key is knowing which routes might be affected, and when.

SOLUTION

Our tool predicts the possible path of storms and plots them on a map of supply routes.  Where an intersection looks likely, there are a few options:

• Change the timing of shipments.
• Ship from a different location, or on a different path.
• Change the production schedule to use unaffected products.

RESULTS

The results from using this tool have been excellent.

• Line outages and stock outs are greatly reduced.
• Staff are not placed in harm’s way.
• In the worst case, customers can be warned about shortages in advance.
